
Level 2 Award (2079-11) in F-Gas and ODS Regulations Category I Personnel
Engineers will have the knowledge and practical skills required to undertake leak checking, recovery, installation, service and maintenance of stationary refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump equipment that contains refrigerants which are classified as either fluorinated (F) gases or ozone depleting substances (ODS) to meet category I theoretical and practical requirements. The delegate will also become aware of the National and European regulations which legislates in refrigerant and other greenhouse gas emissions to the atmosphere.

Awarding Body
Objectives:
Engineers will be able to meet the minimum legal qualification to install, commission, service, maintain, recover and leak check all refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump systems in accordance with the F-Gas Regulation (EU) No.517/2014.
Course Duration:
Course duration up to 5 days dependent upon experience. If a shorter duration course is required please contact the team.
Who should attend?
Designed for engineers with all levels of experience. Delegates can choose from an extensive programme of F-Gas courses including working with, handling and purchasing refrigerant, category 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Course Content:
The course will improve skills, knowledge and techniques of the following topics:
- Fabricate and fit mechanical and brazed joints
- Pressure test and evacuate to BSEN378
- Charge a blended refrigerant
- Analyse system performance to ensure efficiency (using pressure, temperature, refrigerant state leak test to EC1516/2007)
- Maintain F-Gas log books and records
- Handle refrigerant safely and dispose of legally
- Ensure systems are tight, efficient in their use of energy and meet the F-Gas legal requirements
The course includes theoretical and practical assessments, including a multiple choice online exam.
Outcomes:
Engineers will be able to meet the minimum legal qualification to install, commission, service, maintain, recover and leak check all refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump systems in accordance with the F-Gas Regulation 517/2014.
Delegate preparation:
There are no set entry requirements for this qualification. However, delegates must have a good understanding of spoken and written English.

A buffet style lunch will be provided, along with refreshments when delivered at a Sanctus Training venue.
