For individuals holding a current First Aid at Work certificate, this course is a comprehensive refresher for those looking to update life-saving skills, competencies and become informed of changes in practice and guidelines.
To update and refresh the delegate’s existing knowledge in all areas of the full First Aid at Work syllabus, renewing confidence to deal with any first aid incident.

Who should attend:
This course is for people holding a current First Aid at Work certificate who wish to update life-saving skills, competencies and become informed of changes in practice and guidelines. The first aid at work requalification training course updates the first aid skills of those who need to renew their First Aid at work certificate. The HSE strongly recommends that requalification is completed within a month of the existing certificate expiring.
The course aims to update and refresh the delegate’s existing knowledge in all areas of the full First Aid at Work syllabus, including the use of tourniquets, haemostatic dressings and defibrillators, renewing confidence to deal with any First Aid incident. Delegate’s knowledge and skills for dealing with first aid emergencies, major and minor illnesses, soft tissue and joint injuries will be refreshed and practiced boosting their ability to respond appropriately to any real life first aid accident.
On completion of the training delegates will understand the role of the first-aider, the importance of preventing cross infection and the need for recording incidents and actions.
Successful delegates will have satisfactorily demonstrated competence in resuscitation, care of the unconscious casualty and incident management. Delegates will be continually assessed throughout the duration of the course.
Certificates awarded will be valid for a further 3 years.
Delegates should hold a 3 day First Aid at Work certificate.
