Building an Effective Team

Objectives

When communication, collaboration and creativity are given room to breathe, the effects can be positive for both workplace behaviour and business goals. This course will enable delegates to understand how to get the best from their teams by leading-by-example and utilising the skills and abilities of all team members.

This course is designed to provide delegates with the skills required to build a strong team using a mixture of theory and practical application.

Course Content

The course will be in two parts. The morning session will cover the principles of good team building, what makes an effective leader and what constitutes as a poor manager.

The afternoon session will focus on putting the skills learnt into practice using case studies and role play.

Outcomes

On completion of the course delegates should have gained an understanding of ‘positional’ and ‘people’ power, and what makes an effective manager. They will be able to help team members understand why team success leads to individual success. Delegates should be able to increase their ability to work in a collaborative and cooperative fashion and understand how to use each member’s differences for maximum effectiveness.
