Objectives
To understand how to manage health and safety in the workplace. The course will enable Managers to understand their key responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
Duration
Course duration is ½ day
Who should attend?
Anyone who has a responsibility for staff i.e. Managers, Supervisors and Team Leaders.
Course content
The course will cover all major aspects of health and safety which can fall within the remit of the Manager, including:
- Understanding and controlling business risks
- The provision of training and information and communication skills
- Providing the right workplace facilities; First Aid provision, accidents and ill health
- The principles and responsibilities of managing manual handling
Outcomes
By the end of the course, delegates should have a clear understanding of their health and safety responsibilities.
Delegate Preparation
It would be useful if delegates have an understanding of their own organisation’s policies and procedures and are invited to bring a copy along for their reference
