Objectives:

The course will help delegates recognise the risks associated with display screen equipment, making them aware of both the environmental and ergonomic factors.

Who should attend:

This course is ideal for anyone working with Display Screen Equipment (DSE) for a considerable part of their working day. The course is suitable for those working in an office, shop, factory, or warehouse.

Course Content:

The course will help delegates recognise the risks associated with display screen equipment, making them aware of both the environmental and ergonomic factors.

The course will cover the following topics:

• What is Display Screen Equipment
• Management and employees’ responsibilities and legal duties
• Legislations in the workplace
• How to identify health issues and hazards associated with DSE
• Workstation ergonomics and environmental factors including lighting, ventilation, posture etc.
• How to set up workstations correctly and how to adjust display screens and chairs
• The important of correct positioning of a keyboard, mouse and telephone
• How to conduct a DSE assessment by analysing the risks and applying control measures
• How to complete a HSE workstation checklist

Outcomes:

On completion the delegate will understand all aspects of DSE. They will understand how to set up workstation ergonomically and follow safe practices.  Certificate of Attendance will be awarded.

Delegate Preparation:

There is no requirement for delegates to have any previous knowledge of DSE, meaning the course suitable for beginners.
