The Importance of Annual Refresher Training of First Aiders

From the HSE March 2015 First aid ebulletin
“HSE in our guidance strongly recommends employers ensure their first aiders receive annual refresher training. These courses are of very short duration ie less than half a day. The reason for refreshing these skills annually is that it helps maintain their competency until they re-qualify. So as an employer if you wish to minimise this risk and maintain your first aiders competency consider introducing annual refresher training if you haven’t done so already.”

Sanctus Training expands with purchase of Taiga Training

SANCTUS EXPANDS INTO OIL, GAS & MARINE

Gloucestershire company consolidates its training and consultancy services by acquiring Taiga Training The Sanctus Group, already a leading player in contaminated land remediation, is pleased to announce its acquisition of Gloucestershire-based Taiga Training in a recent expansion of its business.

Sanctus already offers a range of services, including high quality training in areas such as health & safety and is looking to develop this base by adding Taiga’s expertise in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) training and consultancy.

Peter Cooke Managing Director of the Sanctus Group said “I am delighted to welcome Taiga to our family. This enhances our portfolio, enabling us to expand our training and consultancy offering to our existing clients and to a wider audience”.

Sharing a name, though no relation, Reg Cooke (formerly Director of Taiga) said ‘This is a great opportunity to combine Taiga’s experience in oil, gas, marine and building services with Sanctus’ expertise in land remediation and training providing clients with an integrated and unrivalled service’.

Reg will continue to be a lead consultant overseeing the training, trouble shooting and design of oil, gas and marine applications for Sanctus. This expansion of Sanctus will ensure it is able to extend and improve services to its customers while offering the quality of provision associated with the company.

This acquisition will in no way disrupt Sanctus Taiga’s normal working relationships, as staff, address and contact details remain the same.
